In the Hebrew tradition, dance functioned as a medium of prayer and praise, as an expression of joy and reverence, and as a mediator between God and humanity. This understanding of dance permeated the faith of the early Christian church. It continued to be utilized as a medium of prayer and praise.
WHO CAN DANCE
Often, we find that praise dancers are women who have been abused, raped, or hurt sometime in their past. It isn’t the people who have it all together that God uses, it is the ones who make themselves available to Him.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”

ReplyDeleteDancing. When I think of praise dancing, I think of how the American Indians would dance until it rained. I danced until it rained. I danced until my pain went away. I danced until I smiled. I danced until God was pleased with me.
