Blame is a learned behavior that you can unlearn, but it takes COURAGE to move on from the familiarity of past mistakes and methods! Develop a strategy that focuses on where you’re going and what God is saying will happen. Philippians 3:13-14 describes the outlook we should have: “I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Instead of spending energy on blame, move into the future and begin visualizing what success and victory look like. Anger is rarely the first emotion. Fear usually strikes first, preying on what we don’t know. Therefore, the solution requires KNOWLEDGE! As you continue forward, decide to work for a solution instead of being angry. You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control how you respond to situations and issues. “Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires” (James 1:20 NIV). You have a choice to make. You can stand with angry fists raised, or you can assume responsibility for your response and refuse to be a victim of your own anger.
